Custom Golf Clubs will help you "hit it where they mow"
Why are custom golf clubs the exception instead of the norm? Most all sports have specialized - customized equipment and if you are using off the rack (big box store) clubs you are not doing your game any favors. There is a smorgasbord of great components out there; find out what best suits you. But buyer beware, you cannot get custom fitted over the Internet, no matter how many awards are posted, it is just not true. I know that statement is going to ruffle some feathers and bruise some egos, so be it. Later on we will talk more about it.
·Shafts
·Grips
·Heads
Take the three components of the club and add in the club fitter and the club builder and you will have your buddies asking, “Where did you get those clubs?”
If you replace your grips once a year - whether they need it or not (they need it)...
If you leave your clubs with graphite shafts in the trunk of your car – during the hot summer months and all of the sudden your Tee shots are erratic...
If you know all the major brand name heads – and your game is not improving...
Then go and see your local golf professional and take his/her advice and get fitted properly and stop the bleeding, improve your game with custom fit components.
Definitely know enough about your equipment (you can't get that from commercials). You need to be able to tell if the person you are talking to is some smoke and mirror expert or do they know what they are talking about. From worn out grips to broken shafts, from MOI to frequency matching, most professionals are happy to educate you. A player who takes the time to educate himself about his equipment will be a better golfer and will be playing with custom fit clubs.
